The ongoing rivalry between Microsoft and Slack has intensified after the latest complaint filed by Slack Technologies against Microsoft regarding the integration of the Teams app with their ubiquitous Office suite. According to Slack, such bundled products allow companies to gain an unfair advantage over other collaboration tool providers. Following the complaint, the EU antitrust commission has issued a questionnaire for Microsoft competitors (seen by Reuters) asking if the Teams app integration with the Microsoft Office product gives the software giant greater clout. Microsoft is expanding in the communications market with the introduction of their Azure Communication Services. This new service is a fully managed communication platform for integrating calls, chats and SMS into business organizations and their applications. Azure Communication Services allows users to develop new communication solutions or integrate them into existing applications, avoiding high costs, complexity, or time wastage. Microsoft has announced the launch of a new phone system for business customers, Microsoft 365 Business Voice, which is now available in Canada and the UK. This phone system combines calling, chats, meetings, calendar and e-mail functions. The solution also deploys Microsoft artificial intelligence (AI) technology to automatically transcribe voicemail, translate chat messages, and add captions to meetings in real time. According to the announcement, Microsoft 365 Business Voice is a cloud-based system that has been designed as a complete cooperation package for enterprises with up to 300 users.
