Phoenix Tower International has bolstered its French network with two acquisitions totaling 1,978 sites, strategically placed in populous regions. With the latest addition of SFR-hosted and Bouygues Telecom sites, PTI’s French portfolio now stands at 3,600 sites which is expected to surpass 5,000 within two years. According to Google Cloud, it successfully stopped the greatest distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assault ever, which reached a peak of 46 million requests per second (rps). One Google Cloud client who was utilizing the DDoS protection service Google Cloud Armor was the target of the assault on June 1.   The attackers blasted consumers’ HTTP/S Load Balancer with HTTPS requests for 69 minutes, starting with 10,000 rps and quickly scaling up to 100,000 rps until peaking at a stunning 46 million rps. Orange and MasMovil in talks about joint venture  Orange and MasMovil have stated that they are in talks to launch a 50:50 joint venture (JV) in Spain. Orange’s Spanish subsidiary is valued at €8.1 billion, while MasMovil is valued at €11.5 billion, for a total enterprise value of €19.6 billion. The merged operator would include around 7.1 million fixed line customers and 20.2 million mobile users, with a combined FTTH network of approximately 16 million residences. After the British Competition & Market Authority (CMA) uncovered and voiced severe competition concerns, the planned 40-billion-dollar merger between American chipmaker Nvidia and Arm is at risk.   The CMA has expressed apprehension that the proposed relationship between Nvidia and the UK chip specialist Arm might be motivated by and be able to limit or even restrict access to the intellectual property (IP) of Arm. Currently, this technology is utilized to make semiconductor chips by firms that compete with Nvidia.   The potential absence of competition could interfere with innovation in various industries, including data centers and the Internet of Things (IoT).
