Leading cloud communication and contact center solutions provider, 8×8, Inc., has unveiled an enhancement to its Intelligent Customer Assistant platform, introducing voice-powered conversational AI. This addition augments the already robust conversational AI self-service capabilities of 8×8’s platform, enabling businesses to seamlessly deliver both straightforward and intricate experiences through digital and voice channels.

The Tribal Broadband Connectivity Programme (TBCP), funded primarily by President Biden’s Internet for All Initiative, has recently bestowed $3.5 million in grants among seven Tribal entities to accelerate internet access in these areas. Supported with an impressive $3 billion budget, the TBCP aims to reduce internet barriers and bridge the digital divide, promising a transformative effect. Development Capital has announced a €6 million investment in Internet Protocol Telecom Limited (IP Telecom), a leading Irish provider of cloud-based voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and unified communications telephony services to SME & Enterprise customers in Ireland. The minority investment will be used to accelerate the company’s organic and acquisitive expansion plans in the business telephony sector, with intention to increase annual revenues from a forecast of €6m in 2023 to €11m in FY2024. The investment in IP Telecom brings Development Capital’s total investments in Irish SME’s to €100m since 2013.

In a first for the region, Ericsson and Australian operator TPG are creating a cloud-native AI-powered analytics tool, designed specifically to streamline 4G and 5G networks. With the power to predict and fix performance issues in real-time, this tool aims to enhance response times to network issues and reduce reliance on complex infrastructure analysis. Showcasing TPG as an early adopter, this technology also enhances network flexibility as usage increases, allowing for tracking of around five million subscribers.
