Telefónica and Grupo Álava to offer a predictive maintenance solution

Telefónica Tech and Grupo Álava have announced a collaboration to work on a predictive maintenance solution. This partnership will provide industrial companies with an advanced data platform that will allow them to optimize their operations by anticipating potential faults or defects in machinery through a predictive maintenance plan. The solution will contribute not only to improving the sector’s safety, efficiency and competitiveness, but also to ensuring its long-term viability by eliminating many of the expenses needed for unplanned repairs. Axiata Group, a Malaysian multinational telecommunications group with widespread operations in Asia, has signed a commitment to the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi), formalizing their intention to set a long-term science-based target of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Axiata claimed in a statement that it is the first Malaysian telecommunications provider to implement the SBTi, joining more than 50 mobile carriers worldwide in rapidly addressing climate action. The Italian telecoms operator TIM is evaluating the US investment group’s KKR expression of interest in acquiring the full capital stake of the company, a potential 11 billion euro transaction. The proposal was lodged by the US investment fund at a price of €0.505 per share, a 45.7 percent premium over the share’s closing price on Friday.
