DIDWW, the cloud telephony platform focused on providing virtual phone numbers on a global basis, has recently been assigned a new international shared country code by the ITU (International Telecommunication Union). This organization is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies, and is responsible for implementing technical standards that ensure the seamless interconnection of networks. In the past, the company highlighted the vulnerabilities and shortfalls of the current number portability procedures and how it was possible that a subscriber could lose their phone number. This problem has become critical due to the fact that phone numbers are increasingly used as a supposedly secure means of identification and authentication in our journey towards full digital transformation. As per DIDWW’s official announcement, the company strongly subscribes to the ITU’s philosophy that the phone number is an asset that must be owned by the end-user, and the company…

The American chipset manufacturer Nvidia is rolling out its EGX platform to bring real-time artificial intelligence (AI) to the edge of the network. Nvidia EGX is an accelerated computing platform, which boasts low-latency AI that enables companies to perceive, understand and act in real time on continuous streaming data between 5G base stations, warehouses, retail stores, factories and beyond. AI computing will occur at the edge of the network, where sensors collect data before it is sent to cloud-connected data centers. This platform is expected to satisfy the increasing demand for AI applications to assist numerous devices streaming continuous raw sensor data and is designed for high-throughput AI at the edge where data is primarily sourced to achieve instantaneous and guaranteed response times while reducing bandwidth to the cloud. According to the company, by 2025, there could be up to 150 billion machine sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices streaming…

Samsung Electronics is striving to remain at the forefront of technological innovations and is challenging the boundaries by making more powerful smartphone cameras – the company has introduced two new 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensors, the 64-megapixel (MP) Samsung Isocell Bright GW1 and 48 MP Isocell Bright GM2. These image sensors will expand Samsung’s 0.8μm image sensor lineup from the existing 20 MP to ultra-high 64 MP resolutions, thus bringing new standards of photography to smartphones. Yongin Park, executive vice president of the sensor business at Samsung Electronics, said: “Over the past few years, mobile phone cameras have become the main instrument for recording and sharing our everyday moments. With more pixels and advanced pixel technologies, Samsung Isocell Bright GW1 and GM2 will bring a new level of photography to today’s sleekest mobile devices that will enhance and help change the way we record our daily lives.” The…

The VoIP market is set for impressive growth from USD 20 billion in 2018 to around USD 55 billion by 2025, according to a report submitted by Global Market Insights, Inc. The anticipated growth is due to the technology’s rapid development and the increased adoption of cloud-based VoIP services that provide cost-effective and efficient ways to communicate. The forecast increase in VoIP adoption is also seen as the result of businesses migrating from traditional to cloud-based phone systems in their quest to achieve high business performance through more reliable and routable calling services and reduced maintenance. The report indicates that the hosted IP PBX segment in the VoIP market is “expected to witness the fastest growth rate of over 15% from 2019 to 2025 as IP-based phone systems are hosted by service providers.” Hosted VoIP eliminates the need to install any equipment on site, thus reducing maintenance and…

Cherry Servers is one of the leading hosting companies in Europe since 2001. As IT market grows and changes constantly, demand for new services and infrastructure development is crucial. “After 2 and a half years of hard work and development, I can proudly say that we have finally launched our Bare Metal Cloud”, – says Artūras Lazejevas, CEO of Cherry Servers. “Before starting to pursue a new venture, we always ask ourselves if there’s a strong business case behind it. As of Bare Metal Cloud we found out that there are many customers who need to have cloud-like elasticity on bare metal machines, but want to avoid vendor lock-in that is so prevalent among hyperscale providers. We remove the redundant virtualization layer, while adding security and decreasing complexity of the infrastructure, which results in greater performance. With specialized infrastructure and hardware level control our customers get raw compute power that allows…

Most progressive and forward-thinking companies employ advanced technologies when trying to find new ways to strengthen commercial relationships and reinforce their business processes to promote growth. In today’s global digital world, telephony has become much more than just communications – it promotes innovation, efficiency, flexibility and integration. While more and more companies are seeking to adopt modern, cost-effective communication technology such as VoIP (Voice over Internet protocol), the task of communicating with customers and taking care of their needs is often accomplished using advanced and high-tech CRM (customer relationship management) solutions. VoIP-CRM integrations allow cloud VoIP providers to connect their customer’s CRM accounts with the implemented business phone systems, and exchange data between the two platforms. Let’s analyze the benefits of CRM and phone system integration, and the smart communication models for business that offer the combination of VoIP and CRM. The concept of VoIP-CRM integration In general, CRM…

Apple has recently acquired the Italian startup named Stamplay, a company offering an API-based backend development platform that aims to simplify the cloud-based development of apps for businesses. ZTE Corporation and Intel have jointly launched the Light Cloud platform for access networks at the 5G Summit being held at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. The Light Cloud solution is based on Intel’s innovative Edge products, impeccably integrated into ZTE’s flagship optical fiber access platform, Titan, thus merging Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) and Network function virtualization (NFVI). The solution employs lightweight blade servers equipped with Intel Xeon D processors. When embedded in an OLT or BRAS device, the blade servers transform it into lightweight cloud infrastructure, thus reducing high capital costs and making a positive environmental impact. The infrastructure opens up computing and storage possibilities based on telecom access equipment, and allows the deployment and distribution of application-sensitive services. The access layer with cloud features is supported by built-in blade servers, and facilitates the ability to offer a wide range of cloud applications and services, including…
