As the digital revolution persists, Communication Service Providers (CSPs) are redefining traditional revenue streams, with data monetisation being key to their success. CSPs have transitioned from solely facilitating connectivity to enabling fascinating digital technologies. They’re effectively tapping into the vast quantities of data from their networks to drive valuable insights. For instance, Vodafone Portugal, aided by Celfocus, successfully converted raw data into significant insights to improve operational effectiveness.

Sinch, which powers meaningful conversations between businesses and their customers through its Customer Communications Cloud, today announced that it will deliver a digital transformation project for Beyond ONE in the growing Latin American market. EXA Infrastructure, the largest dedicated digital infrastructure platform connecting Europe and North America, today announced it has added a fifth transatlantic route to its network footprint with the addition of the Dunant cable, connecting the US and Europe via a southern corridor across the Atlantic. This new route complements EXA’s existing cables, connecting Paris and Bordeaux in France to the large data centre clusters of Virginia Beach, Richmond and Ashburn in the US. This new route offers excellent diversity from other transatlantic cables, as well as connecting to EXA’s extensive European backbone onwards to Madrid, Barcelona and Marseille via differentiated routes.

Samsung’s 5G CBRS Strand Small Cell solution empowers cable operators by providing a quick, cost-effective method for deploying 5G data-offloading capabilities. Field-tested and now commercially available, this compact solution has been deployed with Comcast, supporting their goal of efficient data traffic offloading and improved 5G connectivity.

Nokia takes a significant leap in telecom landscape with a unique Cloud RAN trial, persistently striving to achieve parity between Cloud RAN and purpose-built RAN. This strategic move, involving Elisa, explores In-Line acceleration potential, positioning Nokia in a subtle competition with Ericsson’s ‘Look-Aside’ approach. The latter’s reticence adds intrigue to this telecommunication rivalry. However, will Nokia’s In-Line strategy prove to be the more efficient route?

Orange Marine continues to assert dominance in the subsea cable industry with the sophisticated ‘Sophie Germain’, an innovative vessel designed for comprehensive undersea cable care. This 100 meter long ship is home to a 450 kW ROV for precise optic cable maintenance. Moreover, it not only enhances connectivity globally, but also makes strides in sustainability by significantly reducing fuel consumption and slashing emissions. Remarkably, in a field with only 60 cable ships worldwide, Orange Marine introduces innovation that may reshape the future of global telecommunications infrastructure.
