Mitel, a global business communications provider, has announced that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Atos to acquire Unify, the Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) and Communication and Collaboration Services (CCS) businesses of the Atos group. The proposed purchase would boost Mitel’s organizational scope, worldwide revenues and profitability. With a combined client base of more than 75 million users in more than 100 countries and a channel network of more than 5,500 worldwide partners, Mitel and Unify would become a well-established UC leader in the Americas and Europe. As part of the proposed agreement, Mitel would acquire Unify’s voice platforms, collaboration and contact center solutions, device and endpoint portfolio, and related intellectual property.
