Google Cloud secures contract to supply Workspace to the public sector

Google Cloud, an accelerator of digital transformation for businesses, is expanding its presence in the Dutch public sector, having secured an agreement with the Central Dutch Government to provide access to the Google Workspace suite of cloud-based collaboration and productivity tools. The Central Dutch Government acknowledged in a statement that the agreement will help its departments shift toward hybrid working methods while also allowing participants to adopt the multi cloud paradigm of IT service consumption. The successful demonstration of renewable energy sources in a 5G mobile site has been confirmed by Deutsche Telekom and Ericsson. Both companies collaborated to convert a live radio station utilizing a management system to optimize power supply and demand by leveraging solar and wind energy. The site in Dittenheim, 120 kilometers north of Munich, has been partially powered by solar panels for over a year as part of a prior collaboration between the two enterprises. Wind turbines have now been installed as part of a new trial to increase the site’s renewable energy capability. Acting as a second renewable energy power source, the wind turbine is capable of providing up to 5kW of additional electricity. When the conditions are ideal, the facility may run entirely on renewable energy, eliminating the requirement for use of the electrical power grid. Twilio, a customer engagement platform used by hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world, and Syniverse, a communications technology provider to leading carriers and enterprises, have announced that their strategic partnership has been finalized, with Twilio investing $750 million in common equity in Syniverse and the companies expanding their strategic and commercial partnership. In February 2022, Syniverse opted to abandon its intention for a $2.85 billion reverse acquisition that would have resulted in the business being listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
