The SoftBank Group’s subsidiary Z Holdings has announced that after completing a merger with the popular messaging app Line, it will invest $4.7 billion into the venture and hire 5,000 artificial intelligence engineers over the next five years. The merger of the two Japanese companies has been in the works since 2019, but was delayed by issues related to Covid-19. The main business areas of the company will be communication and social media, electronic and mobile commerce, along with online search and advertising. RingCentral, a US-based provider of high-performance cloud communications and collaboration solutions for businesses, has announced a new high-volume and fully integrated SMS service that allows businesses to send SMS messages and updates to their customers promptly and seamlessly. Developers can build custom applications by using the  Application Programming Interface (API) that interfaces with RingCentral’s business communication platform. RingCentral also provides a service with pre-built applications that can be obtained from the RingCentral App gallery. By using RingCentral phone numbers for bulk SMS messages, companies can send one-time messages or bundle requests. In addition, the company supports message insights, such as status, logs, storage and analysis for more progressive compliance. New Jersey, US-based Synchronoss Technologies has announced that it is working with a new joint venture formed by the four largest mobile operators in the United States – AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon – to speed up the delivery of an advanced mobile messaging service to consumers and businesses in all four mobile networks. The US tech giants have recently launched Cross Carrier Messaging Initiative (CCMI) and will cooperate with cloud, messaging, digital and IoT product specialist Synchronoss to offer a compatible Rich Communications Services (RCS) application to Android devices in 2020. This platform, based on the RCS standard that was developed together with technology partner WIT Software, can create a messaging ecosystem that allows consumer brands to attain a new level of engagement.
