Telinta enhances its TeliGlobe Brandable Mobile Softphone solution with “In-App” sign-up

Telinta, a global leader in cloud-based softswitch solutions for UCaaS and VoIP service providers, has announced a unique enhancement to its TeliGlobeTM Brandable Mobile VoIP solution. End users can download Telinta’s free Mobile Softphone application from both Google Play and Apple iTunes.  Telinta customers now have the option to enable new end users to open an account and sign up for VoIP services directly from the brandable app. The new “in-app” sign-up capability joins TeliGlobe’s existing option for online sign-up using a browser, and is available to Telinta customers using TeliGlobe Brandable at no additional cost. T-Mobile US launches commercial Voice-over-5G

T-Mobile US has begun offering commercial Voice-over-5G (also known as Voice over New Radio, or VoNR) in certain regions of Portland, Oregon, and Salt Lake City, Utah, with the intention of expanding the service to a larger area later this year.    VoNR, which is based on 5G Standalone (5G SA) network technology, is now available on the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G smartphone and will be available later this year on a variety of additional 5G handsets, including the Galaxy S22.   Voice over 5G represents a significant hurdle for the whole wireless industry, however all US providers will most certainly want to transition voice calling to 5G at some point in the future to free up LTE spectrum for 5G. Docomo and Airbus conduct a high-altitude connectivity trial

Airbus and NTT DOCOMO have tested the possibility of supplying future wireless broadband access using the solar-powered Zephyr High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS). The experiment was conducted in August in the United States, when the Zephyr S aircraft flew in the stratosphere for 18 days to assess different capabilities.   The Airbus Zephyr S, which is equipped with an onboard radio transmitter, offered a highly flexible data link during its stratospheric flight to mimic future direct-to-device connection. Test data was collected at different altitudes and during various hours of the day and night, with the goal of determining how weather conditions, varied elevation angles and aircraft flight patterns influence connectivity in the stratosphere.   Various bandwidths were used in the tests to replicate direct-to-device services from the HAPS to end-users at low, nominal and high capacity.
