VMware unveils innovations at VMworld 2021

At its annual VMworld conference, VMware announced its latest advancements which focus on features that simplify multi-cloud installations and improve security. VMware has disclosed new enhancements to VMware Cloud, the industry’s first and only multi-cloud computing architecture that allows clients to migrate their corporate apps to the cloud in almost half the time and for a fraction of the cost. A new VMware Edge product line was also announced, which comprises an Edge stack, secure access service edge (SASE) features and a Telco Cloud Platform.

NTT to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions

NTT, a Japanese telecommunications company, has announced that it will issue $2.7 billion in “green bonds,” with the proceeds going towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing their investment in renewable energy. These green bonds will be divided into three tranches, each with a three-, five-, and ten-year maturity, but the money collected will only be used for ecologically beneficial initiatives. NTT aims to be carbon neutral by 2040, largely through the utilization of renewable energy and network infrastructure upgrades that minimize energy usage. NTT has also said that in the decade running up to 2030, it will invest about $4 billion in renewable energy projects.

Boomi announces a charitable donation program

Boomi, a software business that specializes in integration platforms as a service, API management, intelligent connection and automation, has announced the launch of a new charity donation program. This initiative, which is driven by its Boomiverse user community, will donate a total of $100,000 to charitable groups committed to issues such as homelessness relief, boosting diversity in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), providing international aid, and more. The initiative is being launched to salute the company’s online community reaching 100,000 members. Members will be able to allocate the money in whatever way they see fit by participating in the community and contributing to its knowledge base.

Call2Teams enhances its portal functionality

Call2Teams, a platform that provides partners with a leading go-to-market solution for voice-enabling Microsoft Teams and is used by voice and IT service providers all over the world, will now provide more branding and functionality on its site. Verizon partners with CareAR

Verizon Business and CareAR have established a collaborative partnership to enhance the service and customer experience provided by CareAR. By combining Verizon’s 4G, 5G networks and near real-time computing capabilities with CareAR’s augmented reality and AI-based platform, technicians will be able to remotely and actively resolve service issues faster and more securely. CareAR, backed by Verizon network technology, will also help with labor modifications by using connectivity and AI/AR to enable speedy education and the ramp-up of workers, regardless of their location, increasing efficiency during this phase of workforce evolution.
