RingCentral, a US-based provider of high-performance cloud communications and collaboration solutions for businesses, has announced a new high-volume and fully integrated SMS service that allows businesses to send SMS messages and updates to their customers promptly and seamlessly. Developers can build custom applications by using the  Application Programming Interface (API) that interfaces with RingCentral’s business communication platform. RingCentral also provides a service with pre-built applications that can be obtained from the RingCentral App gallery. By using RingCentral phone numbers for bulk SMS messages, companies can send one-time messages or bundle requests. In addition, the company supports message insights, such as status, logs, storage and analysis for more progressive compliance. The API also permits RingCentral customers to use SMS for services such as mass marketing, automated messaging, customer surveys, chatbots, two-factor authentication and one-time passwords.  The API is currently in beta version and available as part of RingCentral’s…

Dialpad, the US-based business VoIP, video and contact-center service provider has announced $100 million in E Series financing. The funding phase was led by OMERS Growth Equity, Andreessen Horowitz, GV, ICONIQ Capital, Felicis Ventures, Section 32 and Work-Bench. As claimed by the company, its value now exceeds $1.2 billion, based on  the $245 million that it has raised up till now. The new funding will focus on Dialpad innovations and support expanded market strategies. The $1.2 billion evaluation comes as no surprise, as the demand in the market is growing. The company says its annual revenue figure now exceeds $100 million. In addition, Dialpad has recently focused on its artificial intelligence solutions. In 2018, the company launched its VoiceAI service and now provides many AI solutions as part of its voice intelligence service. Germany to retire its 3G network Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica Deutschland and Vodafone Germany have announced the dates of their 3G network service withdrawal. Deutsche Telekom announced that it will aim to shut down 3G networks by the summer of 2021, while the Vodafone Germany target date was announced to be a few months earlier. Similarly, Telefonica Deutschland has stated that it would like to switch off its 3G technology by the end of 2021. This means that Germany will be essentially dependent on LTE and 5G in just over a year. Deutsche Telekom says the coverage gaps left after the 3G shutdown will be filled by 4G. Deutsche Telekom will move 18 million users to the cloud Deutsche Telekom has announced that 18 million of its fixed voice customers will soon have their services moved to a new cloud-based telephony platform. The company currently has a next-generation IP multimedia subsystem (NIMS) deployed in telco’s data centers throughout Germany. The platform promises to deliver services faster and more efficiently by automatically allocating voice capacity on the network as needed. As 5G technology continues to mature, leading global wireless carriers are competing to be the first to advance from the non-standalone (NSA) mode of 5G, in which a 4G LTE core is combined with 5G capabilities, to a standalone architecture (SA) 5G network. T-Mobile US, one of the largest carriers providing wireless voice, messaging and data services in the United States, has announced the launch of its SA 5G network. Ujet raises $55 million to expand cloud-based customer support platform Ujet, a leading provider of cloud contact center software, has secured USD 55 million in Series C funding to expand its sales and marketing teams at home and internationally, as well as launch new products and features.
