Motorola and Google Cloud have announced a new multi-year partnership to integrate generative AI technology into Motorola phones, starting with the latest series of razr smartphones. The flagship models, including the motorola razr+/motorola razr 50 ultra, will feature Moto ai technology, which leverages Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, Gemini, and Imagen models. This technology aims to enhance the user experience by offering task completion, relevant suggestions, reminders, information summarization, and more.

Dan Dery, Motorola’s Vice President of AI, Ecosystem and Internet Services, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing that Moto ai enables users to intuitively create content, personalize their devices, and achieve more in less time through advanced AI capabilities from Google.

Moto ai is seamlessly integrated into various aspects of the smartphone, including the camera, battery, display, and overall device performance. Key features developed through this partnership include Magic Canvas, which converts descriptions into graphics for messages, social media, and wallpapers, and Style Sync, which personalizes the phone’s appearance to match the user’s outfits.

The AI technology learns from user interactions and will continually update with new features, such as delivering prioritized summaries of personal communications, transcribing and summarizing conversations, and recalling important information on demand.

Umesh Vemuri, Google Cloud’s Vice President of Strategic Pursuits, highlighted Motorola’s history of innovation, noting that the new razr smartphones harness Google’s AI to enhance user experiences globally.

Moto ai, powered by Google Cloud AI technology, is now available on the new razr phones. The motorola razr+/motorola razr 50 ultra is currently available in select Latin American and European countries, with pre-orders open in North America, India, and select Asia Pacific countries in the coming weeks.
