Huawei is tackling the evolving challenges in distributed data centers with its latest offering, Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0. This comes as the global data center industry faces growing demand driven by cloud services, AI workloads, and edge computing. The industry, once favoring large centralized facilities, is now shifting towards distributed models. These models position smaller data centers strategically close to end users, aiming at providing benefits such as low latency, increased resilience, and flexibility.
However, operating distributed data centers presents challenges. Managing these centers involves significant costs, particularly when equipment from various vendors is used. Additionally, complexities such as network optimization across sites and maintaining cybersecurity are daunting tasks.
At the recent Ultra-Broadband Forum, co-hosted by Huawei and the UN Broadband Commission, Huawei introduced Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0. The focus of this solution is leveraging AI to enhance network security, reliability, and operations and maintenance functions.
The solution begins with the StarryWing Digital Map. This component utilizes AI to automate cross-data center network and security provisioning, streamlining processes that previously took days into mere minutes. Moreover, NetMaster, another integral part of the solution, facilitates automated fault resolution. It employs natural language orchestration to resolve 80% of fault tickets, greatly reducing resolution times.
A significant advancement is the reduction of network outage impacts. The Xinghe AI Fabric 2.0 employs Data Plane Crossing Faults technology and Dynamic Path Fast Recovery capabilities. This combination minimizes network fault recovery times from hours to mere minutes, strengthening system resilience.
Overall, by integrating AI deeply within its architecture, Huawei aims to transform how data centers operate. This allows for faster, more accurate responses to potential network and cybersecurity issues without extensive manual intervention. As demands rise from businesses for efficient, latency-sensitive applications, enabling self-deploying, self-healing networks becomes imperative.
