CelcomDigi has inaugurated its AI experience center, AiX, in Malaysia. This center aims to foster the creation of digital solutions across various sectors and industries. The Asian telecom giant emphasized that this new facility operates with the support of a robust ecosystem of global tech players and local collaborators. The focus areas include 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR), robotics, analytics, and the metaverse.
Datuk Idham Nawawi, CEO of CelcomDigi, remarked, “Emerging technologies such as AI are revolutionizing the world, and Malaysia must keep pace with this progress to build a flourishing digital nation. We have made a strong commitment to play a pivotal role to realize this ambition, leveraging our greater combined capabilities as a merged company to invest and drive digitalization, innovation, and sustainable growth for the nation. The AI Experience Centre is a realization of the national benefit of the merger, where CelcomDigi’s scale and capabilities are able to attract and partner global and regional digital tech giants.”
AiX provides an immersive experience, featuring ready-to-deploy real-world solutions. The center, housed in CelcomDigi’s Subang Jaya Hi-Tech Park hub, contains two main spaces: The Infinity and The Gallery. The Infinity offers visitors interactive digital simulations, while The Gallery showcases real-world industrial applications in eight verticals: manufacturing, logistics, energy, fleet, port, healthcare, education, and agritech. Out of the 45 solutions displayed, 13 are live use cases currently being piloted within Malaysian enterprises.
Beyond the showcasing of cutting-edge technology, AiX is a collaborative space acting as a live lab environment. This space facilitates cooperation among startups, large enterprises, academia, and government agencies to co-create, test, and validate new solutions integrating 5G with other burgeoning technologies.
CelcomDigi has secured partnerships with major technology leaders such as Huawei, ZTE, AWS, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB), Ericsson, Microsoft, SK Telecom, Softbank, and Sumitomo to support the facility’s operations.
