Kontron, a global provider of IoT and Embedded Computing Technology, has partnered with Amarisoft to introduce a robust private 5G solution targeting the Defense and Security industries. Leveraging Kontron’s rugged ME1310 platform alongside Amarisoft’s CORE and RAN software, the partnership focuses on providing reliable connectivity in challenging environments.
Kontron’s ME1310 platform stands out for its durability and excellent performance. It operates seamlessly in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +65°C and can withstand significant shock and vibration. This platform consolidates switching and timing for 4G and 5G open RAN networks while ensuring high processing power and advanced connectivity options. These features make it ideal for mission-critical applications needing robust and reliable operations.
Amarisoft’s software complements Kontron’s hardware by enhancing the system’s performance, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. Amarisoft’s software approach allows for high configurability, catering to various use cases with different TDD patterns, cell bandwidth, and MIMO layers. It facilitates more than 1000 active user devices and supports additional features through simple software upgrades. This adaptability speeds up deployment cycles and runs on any x86 CPU architecture without requiring external accelerators or FPGAs, cutting down the platform’s overall costs.
The combined solution offered by Kontron and Amarisoft promises to reduce operational expenditures and total cost of ownership. It achieves this by minimizing the need for air conditioning/heating, reducing cabling, fewer failure points, and saving space. The simplified deployment of 4G/5G networks is beneficial for industries such as military defense, security, and industrial automation.
Neda Nikaein, Vice President of Products and Operation at Amarisoft, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are thrilled to partner with Kontron to provide an off-the-shelf 4G/5G baseband solution to the market. This new platform is designed to enable seamless integration with existing infrastructures while providing robust support for the specific requirements of defense, security, and transportation industries.”
Bertrand Foulon, Business Development Director at Kontron, highlighted the partnership’s potential. “By partnering with Amarisoft, we’re opening up new possibilities for mission-critical applications. With our ME1310 platform, we can guarantee reliable and secure connectivity in the most challenging environments, while simplifying the 4G/5G private network implementation process for our customers.”
