LilaConnect, a retail ISP specializing in broadband services, has recently announced that it has surpassed 15,000 connected customers. This milestone is a testament to the company’s commitment to offering high-quality full fibre internet connectivity to homes and businesses in the UK. The achievement aligns with the UK government’s goal of nationwide full-fibre technology by 2030.

A notable aspect of LilaConnect’s service is its use of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology. Unlike traditional broadband connections that rely on copper wires, FTTP delivers highly competitive internet speeds by using fibre optic cables. This technology not only ensures faster speeds but also prepares homes for the impending discontinuation of copper networks.

In the past year, LilaConnect has seen substantial growth. The company reported a 90% increase in new orders and a 300% rise in active subscribers. The company’s customer-centric approach, characterized by its collaborative and friendly service, is central to its success.

Following a merger with VX UK and the Freedom Fibre Group, LilaConnect aims to expand its network further. The merger enables the ISP to leverage VX UK’s innovative FTTP network, which employs XGS-PON technology. This cutting-edge technology boosts the efficiency and speed of the network.

“We understand the important part we play in helping to eliminate the digital divide by ensuring everyone in the community has access to fit for purpose and future-proof connectivity. We’re proud to have hit the impressive milestone of our 15,000th customer,” said Jan Lange, Managing Director at LilaConnect.

Lange emphasized that the work is far from over. The next goal is to connect even more homes and businesses across the UK. He highlighted that future faster connectivity speeds are anticipated in response to evolving technological innovations and the increasing number of connected devices.

Currently, LilaConnect is focusing its efforts on commercializing its footprint in regions like Stoke-on-Trent, Bristol, Colchester, Wivenhoe, Crewe, Nantwich, Leek, and Uttoxeter. Major projects are in the pipeline to extend their gigabit full fibre network to more UK communities.
