Vodafone Qatar has entered a significant partnership with Nokia to revamp its mobile network. The collaboration aims to provide faster, more secure, and flexible 5G services across Qatar. This initiative aligns with the country’s growing demand for high-speed connectivity as the ICT sector is projected to grow at 8.5% annually until 2030.

Under this agreement, Nokia will deliver an end-to-end setup that enhances network capacity, reduces latency, and accelerates feature rollouts. Additionally, Vodafone expects the upgrade to introduce more automation and improved security measures. This effort is set to unlock new possibilities for next-generation services, including 5G slicing for enterprises and advanced broadband access. The focus on creating a future-proof infrastructure is evident as the network will support ongoing digital innovation.

Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al-Thani, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, stated, “Our work with Nokia will enable us to become more agile and responsive to the evolving needs of customers and businesses. By integrating advanced fibre, mobile, and cloud capabilities, we are shaping a smarter, more secure network that can support everything from customised home Wi-Fi to the latest enterprise technologies.”

The potential for this modernization to elevate Vodafone Qatar’s service offerings is substantial. The network’s enhanced flexibility, scalability, and automation could lead to more innovative and agile service delivery. However, realizing these benefits requires careful implementation and management.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, also stressed, “Through more flexible scaling, reliability, and near-zero-touch automation that our advanced core and broadband solutions deliver, Nokia will provide greater network agility and service offerings, and provide our partner with all the tools it needs to efficiently manage its network assets.”
