Exciting developments are underway in interactive display technology from BenQ with the launch of their newest model, the RP05. This advanced interactive display is designed for classrooms and dynamic office environments that rely on collaborative technology. Boasting on-device artificial intelligence, Android 15, and Google’s Enterprise Devices Licensing Agreement (EDLA) certification, the RP05 enables seamless operation of collaboration apps and AI features directly on the device, eliminating the dependence on external PCs.

Building on the success of its predecessor, the RP04, the RP05 offers improved processing capabilities and an extensive suite of AI and collaboration tools. Carly Burton-Sallay of BenQ North America highlights the RP05 as the next evolution of the BenQ Board, emphasizing its powerful AI-ready chipset and software ecosystem tailored to enhance educational and corporate teamwork.

The RP05’s AI-driven features are a notable asset. Equipped with a 10 TOPS Neural Processing Unit, it offers AI-assisted whiteboarding, real-time content enhancement, automated transcription, and visual idea generation. Furthermore, with a 50-point Android touch interface, it supports simultaneous interaction from multiple users, facilitating group brainstorming and workshops effectively.

A unique advantage of the RP05 is its ability to handle AI tasks on-board. This minimizes the need for additional hardware, such as laptops, streamlining operations in hybrid classrooms and meeting rooms. Further enhancing its utility, the RP05 includes features such as low-blue-light technology and germ-resistant surfaces to ensure user safety and hygiene.

The integration of Google EDLA is a pivotal feature. This certification allows the RP05 to incorporate Google services and facilitates direct access to Google Workspace apps and other third-party applications with added security layers. BenQ has augmented the device with software like EZWrite for digital whiteboarding and InstaShare for seamless wireless screen sharing, alongside comprehensive device management tools.

In a market crowded with options, the RP05 stands out with on-device AI processing and a comprehensive software ecosystem. SMART Technologies, Optoma, and ViewSonic are also at the forefront, offering similar Android-powered displays, highlighting intense competition in the segment. Each competitor focuses on integrating seamless app access and cloud collaboration capabilities.

The rise of Android boards with EDLA has transformed the landscape, allowing users to access Google Workspace and related apps effortlessly. As businesses and schools transition from traditional projector setups to large-format panels, factors like native Android support and enhanced device management capabilities become critical in purchasing decisions.

The 86-inch RP05 is now available, with 65- and 75-inch versions to debut soon. Observers remain eager to see how AI-ready boards like the RP05 will influence educational and corporate environments looking for more cohesive collaborative technologies. BenQ, with its comprehensive approach to on-device processing and software integration, aims to capture a notable share of this evolving market.
