Singapore’s state-owned investment firm, Temasek, has partnered with tech giants Microsoft, BlackRock, and MGX to amplify global artificial intelligence infrastructure. The move is part of the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), which aims to raise up to $100 billion to expand AI-focused data centers and power systems in the United States.
The initiative, launched last September, initially targets a $30 billion investment to bolster infrastructure projects supporting AI applications. The alliance recently gained additional strength with the inclusion of Kuwait Investment Authority, Nvidia, xAI, and Cisco. These new partners join to enhance one of the world’s most ambitious AI infrastructure projects.
Ravi Lambah, head of strategic initiatives at Temasek, emphasized AI’s transformative potential, stating, “AI is potentially the most transformative and impactful technology for all sectors and businesses.” The consortium’s investor day presentation by BlackRock highlighted Temasek’s pivotal role in the partnership.
The partnership’s efforts are not exclusive to the US. In a separate but related development, Schneider Electric and Nvidia are advancing AI infrastructure development in Europe. Their initiatives aim to meet the European Commission’s AI goals, including establishing AI factories and gigafactories across the continent.
Schneider Electric has also launched a range of AI-ready data center solutions, such as the EcoStruxure Pod and Rack Infrastructure, designed for rapid deployment of AI data centers. This move aligns with the European Commission’s “AI Continent Action Plan,” which sets a vision for at least 13 AI factories and up to five gigafactories in Europe.
Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric, remarked on the strategic partnership with Nvidia, saying, “Together, we’ve seen tremendous success in deploying next-generation power and liquid cooling solutions, purpose-built for AI data centers.”
