Different window types – characterized by coatings and pane quantities – impact signal penetration. More panes and certain coatings, especially those with silver, further degrade signals.
One advancement facilitated is the deployment of window-mounted outdoor 5G FWA CPE powered by this technology, enabling better connectivity. Outdoor placement significantly enhances signal strength and reliability, according to Solace. This innovation is pivotal as the first generation of 5G FWA gains traction, especially among home users. However, businesses represent the next growth frontier in FWA networking.
Interestingly, advancements like Low-E windows, aimed at energy efficiency, pose unique challenges for wireless signals. These windows, with their special coatings, albeit useful for thermal efficiency, can obstruct signal passage. Consequently, optimal placement of CPE outside windows ensures superior connectivity.
