Netwatch, a renowned global provider of AI-powered security services, has announced a pivotal agreement to be acquired by GI Partners. Headquartered in Lake Forest, CA and Carlow, Ireland, Netwatch delivers advanced intelligent security solutions across various industries, including automotive, retail, banking, and more. Their proactive video monitoring approach secures over 330,000 sites worldwide, offering peace of mind through site protection and risk mitigation.
The acquisition by GI Partners aims to propel Netwatch into a new phase of growth. “Netwatch has an unmatched reputation among its customers for high-quality, reliable security monitoring solutions to protect essential assets and people,” said Mark Prybutok, Managing Director at GI Partners. Highlighted was the strategic focus on AI technology and enhanced customer partnerships.
For Netwatch CEO Kurt Takahashi, the acquisition is seen as a strategic boost. He stated, “We are very excited to leverage the deep expertise of the GI team to drive continued improvement in our AI, operations and go-to-market strategies.” The collaboration aims at reinforcing their position as a global leader in intelligent security monitoring.
By maintaining operations as an independent entity within GI Partners’ portfolio, Netwatch will leverage the firm’s support to enhance growth and retain the quality service their customers expect. The agreement is slated to finalize in the first quarter of 2026, pending necessary regulatory approvals.
This move raises an intriguing debate within the security industry. The prospect of increased investment in AI technology can enhance security efficacy and operational efficiency. However, aligning company priorities with a new set of investor expectations poses challenges. The balance between innovative growth and maintaining current service quality will be crucial.
Stifel served as the exclusive financial advisor for GI Partners, while legal counsel was provided by Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. This acquisition underscores the growing trend of integrating AI into security services, signaling a step toward more proactive, data-driven security solutions that could set new standards in the field.
