Vanta is significantly expanding its footprint in the Asia Pacific, enhancing its data center operations in Australia and New Zealand. The company announced the launch of a new data center in Sydney, aiming to boost local compliance infrastructure. This move comes as a response to the Australian government’s new Cyber Security Act, which introduces stricter compliance requirements for businesses.

The Sydney data center supports compliance frameworks like CPS 234 and Essential Eight, aiming to streamline the compliance processes for businesses. Vanta’s expansion is designed to provide businesses in the region with greater control over their data and assurance of its safety and accessibility. Jonathon Coleman, General Manager at Vanta, emphasized their commitment to enabling compliance confidence for ANZ businesses through localized capabilities.

Located in New South Wales, the data center offers local data residency, crucial for organizations complying with regional regulations. This facility is strategically positioned to cater to both regulatory and internal data policies for Australian and New Zealand enterprises.

Increased regulatory support is another key feature of Vanta’s new offering. The company now assists with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) CPS 234 framework. This initiative is essential for financial bodies seeking to protect sensitive data and enhance cyber resilience. Vanta’s platform offers automation to meet these requirements, simplifying compliance tasks.

The Essential Eight framework is another compliance area Vanta supports. This cybersecurity protocol is critical for protecting Australian businesses from cyber threats. With Vanta’s platform, companies can efficiently execute and monitor their compliance, enhancing security and gaining customer trust.

By automating security and compliance processes, Vanta allows companies to adhere to both local and global standards, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001. This approach aims to reduce the time and effort usually involved in manual compliance endeavors. Nathan Miller from Dovetail noted that Vanta significantly reduced their SOC 2 audit time, enhancing operational efficiency.

Since opening its Sydney office in November 2022, Vanta has expanded its local team fivefold. This growth includes roles in customer success and technical support, ensuring robust support for customers in Australia and New Zealand.

Hundreds of regional customers now rely on Vanta to achieve their compliance goals with ease and assurance. The company’s ongoing strategy focuses on further expanding its local presence, offering enhanced products and support to its customers. Nick Nikolaiev from Tactiq highlighted Vanta’s role as an essential partner in navigating complex compliance landscapes while delivering exceptional customer value.
