Verizon is taking a significant step in enhancing the game-day experience for Buffalo Bills fans by deploying a private 5G network at the new Highmark Stadium. The stadium, scheduled to open in 2026, will see Verizon as its exclusive wireless telecommunications partner and a founding member. According to Pete Guelli, the Buffalo Bills’ Executive Vice President and COO, this partnership aims to transform fan engagement and connectivity, setting a “new standard for live sports.”

As the designated Official 5G Network, Verizon will own the stadium’s Distributed Antenna System (DAS). This state-of-the-art network infrastructure will keep fans seamlessly connected throughout their stadium visit. In addition to connectivity, the telecom giant will utilize its business solutions to drive sustainability and improve operational efficiencies.

During construction, temporary WiFi solutions are provided by Verizon Business to facilitate design and logistics, ensuring all processes run smoothly. These interim measures reflect the company’s commitment to supporting the project’s development.

Notably, Verizon emphasizes an immersive experience for fans. Chris Flood, Atlantic North Market President, highlighted the enhanced in-stadium features meant to engage fans at every moment. This integration of cutting-edge technology paints a promising picture for the upcoming fan experience.

The new stadium will feature 60,000 seats with an option for expansion for special events. Amenities will include advanced video boards, a robust sound system, and modern convenience stores among other facilities. Fans can also sign up for priority access to visit the Bills Stadium Experience and purchase seats.

The initiative doesn’t cease at connectivity alone. Fans can participate in unique programming and sweepstakes, powered by Verizon. As part of its community support, the company also donated $40,000 to the Veterans One-Stop Center, reflecting its corporate responsibility endeavor.
