Orange Business has announced the launch of a new Defense & Security Division, cementing its commitment to sovereignty in the defense and homeland security sectors. This move aligns with the company’s “Lead the Future” strategy, focusing on strategic verticals with significant sovereignty implications. The initiative highlights Orange Business’s intent to leverage its operational prowess in support of defense and security actors in France and Europe.
The defense and security sector heavily depends on advanced technologies, driven by digital innovation and stringent demands for resilience and security. It necessitates a deep understanding of these needs, data sovereignty, risk anticipation, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. In this context, Orange Business has created the Defense & Security Division (Direction Défense & Sécurité – DD&S). This specialized unit assembles hundreds of experts dedicated to the digital transformation of ministries, operators, and companies in the defense and homeland security industries.
With its comprehensive approach, the new division tackles key challenges. These include deploying resilient connectivity solutions, hybridizing civilian and military networks, and hosting sensitive data. Moreover, it focuses on emergency communication systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The division collaborates with the Defense and Security Vertical of Orange Cyberdefense, a sector leader in France and various European countries.
To achieve its goals, the division relies on Orange Business’s expertise in deploying and maintaining top-tier digital infrastructures. Orange Business boasts the best service quality on its 5G network across France and Europe, 45,000 km of terrestrial fiber, over 2,500 satellite antennas, and 450,000 km of submarine cables. Complementing this, Orange Cyberdefense offers capabilities to detect, protect against, and respond to cyber-attacks, backed by its Cyber Threat Intelligence.
Leading this new entity is Nassima Auvray, Director of Defense & Security. She stated, “I am proud to lead this strategic division, which brings together a multidisciplinary team of several hundred experts committed to designing sovereign, resilient, and high-value solutions for our clients and partners in the defense and security sectors.”
Aliette Mousnier Lompré, CEO of Orange Business, highlighted the demands of defense and security sectors, emphasizing the need for specialized expertise and a nuanced understanding of sovereignty and resilience issues. “That’s why we have decided to create the Defense & Security Division to harness Orange Business’s technological strength and operational excellence,” she noted
