Siemens has partnered with Germany’s LS Telecom to expand its private 5G system globally. Until now, Siemens has offered this system only in Germany. LS Telecom, a specialist in telecommunications systems, will provide comprehensive consultancy and management services for industrial enterprises worldwide.
This partnership promises to deliver 5G solutions for numerous applications and across various industries. LS Telecom is known for its expertise in regulatory and spectrum access, serving critical sectors such as public safety, transportation, oil and gas, and healthcare. It also maintains private-5G agreements with other major players like Nokia and Druid Software while serving clients in 100 countries.
The alliance with LS Telecom comes as Siemens prepares to support higher frequency bands across Europe and the US. This development indicates Siemens’ commitment to enhance its private 5G capabilities, potentially broadening to the 3.8-4.2 GHz band in Europe and the 3.55-3.7 GHz CBRS band in the US. LS Telecom’s involvement ensures readiness to deliver these enhancements in global markets.
Siemens’ private 5G system emphasizes intuitiveness and self-sufficiency, catering to operational technology managers and IT departments alike. Roland Götz, COO of LS Telecom, expressed enthusiasm over the collaboration: “We appreciate working with Siemens and are confident this partnership will bring added value and future-oriented solutions to our customers.”
Daniel Mai, director of industrial wireless communications at Siemens, highlighted LS Telecom’s experience: “With LS telecom, we have a very experienced partner… to offer our customers future-proof private 5G solutions.”
