CommScope and Emtelle have announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments in North America. This collaboration focuses on integrating CommScope’s Prodigy hardened connectivity with Emtelle’s blowable fiber optic micro-cable, promising a significant impact on the workforce and cost efficiency of network installations.
This innovative venture combines Emtelle’s REVOLink3 cable, a versatile pre-connectorized 3-in-One drop cable, with CommScope’s established Prodigy solution. The result is a faster, cost-effective FTTH deployment, offering flexibility in various network environments. This new offering meets the installation needs of service providers by delivering high-quality network performance.
Tony Rodgers, Emtelle Group Chief Executive, described this collaboration as a milestone in telecommunications infrastructure technology. He highlighted Emtelle’s reputation for simplifying network installation processes. Rodgers emphasized the importance of the REVOLink3 as a groundbreaking solution that raises the bar for passive network solutions. “To that end, we are delighted to be collaborating with CommScope to combine REVOLink3 with their proven Prodigy solution. Together this new, unique hardened connectivity will set a new benchmark for FTTH deployment in the North American market.”
The advantages of Prodigy and REVOLink3 extend beyond speed and cost efficiency. CommScope’s product line, known for its durable and adaptable connectivity solutions, now has a smaller footprint thanks to the Prodigy connector’s compact design. This allows for smaller handholes and less visual impact, contributing to a more sustainable deployment.
John Chamberlain, VP Technology, Connectivity and Cable Solutions at CommScope, expressed enthusiasm about this venture. “We are excited to collaborate with Emtelle through this agreement. The interoperability, speed and simplicity provided with the Prodigy solution makes it an ideal option for the next generation for FTTH hardened connectivity and it’s great to work with Emtelle to extend its availability in the North American market.” His support for the partnership underscores CommScope’s commitment to fostering technological advances in the fiber optics field.
