Cisco Unveils AI-Driven Platform Revolutionizing Enterprise IT

This week, Cisco made significant waves during its annual Live conference held in Las Vegas by announcing a comprehensive overhaul of its infrastructure stack, integrating agentic AI into the very core of enterprise operations. With the unveiling of these innovative AI-driven products, Cisco aims to establish its new platform as the default layer for enterprise IT infrastructure worldwide.

The centerpiece of Cisco’s recent developments is its newly introduced Cloud Control platform. This platform amalgamates Cisco’s various products—such as Meraki, Nexus, Intersight, Splunk, and the Collaboration suite—into one unified interface. This integration facilitates seamless collaboration between human operators and AI agents, who now work from a shared data pool and common contextual framework. “It’s no longer about humans clicking through dashboards, in a multitude of dashboards, trying to keep up with what the agents are doing,” said DJ Sampath, Cisco’s Senior VP and GM for AI software and platform.

Enhancements such as AI Canvas in Cloud Control provide a dynamic workspace, where human operators and AI agents collaboratively resolve incidents. The platform surfaces recommendations and root cause analyses for review, eliminating redundancies in data reconstruction and allowing for seamless task escalation. An intriguing addition on the horizon is the Cloud Control Studio, set for late 2026, enabling users to build custom agents and applications within the platform.

Furthermore, in the realm of security and connectivity, Cisco is advancing its networking tools, introducing Agentic Actions for campus and branch networks. This feature allows for autonomous network management through a closed-loop operation of sensing, diagnosing, and remediating network issues. Notably, Cisco’s Multicloud Fabric aims to connect branches, data centers, and cloud workloads across platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and others without needing additional customer hardware.

Security is heightened with the extension of Live Protect’s runtime vulnerability shielding to accommodate broader network devices. Meanwhile, a newly introduced Agentic IAM emphasizes task-specific access, reinforcing secure network operations.

Cisco also showcases its strength in data management by integrating its Data Fabric, powered by Splunk, with advanced capabilities, enabling the querying of data across environments without relocation. This underscores Cisco’s focus on optimizing enterprise data operations for enhanced efficiency and responsiveness.

Interestingly, the Cloud Control platform comes bundled with existing Cisco 360 partner program offerings, sidestepping separate charges. This strategic move is aimed at deepening relationships partners have with their customers rather than merely selling the platform as an individual product. As Alex Pujols, VP of Global Partner Engineering noted, the opportunity lies in expanding customer relationships through Cisco Cloud Control.

As Cisco remains in controlled availability in the US for the time being, the global anticipation grows for its complete rollout. With these ambitious moves toward agentic AI integration, Cisco sets the stage for future enterprise environments where human and AI collaborations redefine productivity and operational efficiency.
