The Lone Star State now enjoys unprecedented connectivity, with T-Mobile’s 5G network covering 99 percent of the area – this is over 198,000 square miles. A steadfast commitment to Texas by T-Mobile has seen the company reinforcing their assets in the state, leading to this robust network coverage.

Since 2021, T-Mobile has ramped up its site expansion with 5G capabilities. A significant number of new cell sites, over a thousand, have been launched and nearly 2,000 existing ones now boast upgraded 5G features. This significant addition added to the improved 5G network in Texas and stood as a testament to the network provider’s dedication to the state.

Beyond network performance, T-Mobile also contributes to local communities. Within the last couple of years, T-Mobile introduced ‘Homegrown Grants’. Ten communities across Texas have already been the recipients of such grants, with the sum of $500,000 aiding each town with city beautification projects, public improvements and much more. Brackettville, Cleveland, Elgin, Falfurrias, Hearne, Levelland, Los Fresnos, Palmview, Plainview, and Robstown were the beneficiaries of these community-improving grants.

Also, T-Mobile’s Project 10Million is making a tangible difference in the educational landscape. As a whopping $10.7B initiative, it aims at closing the education system’s digital divide by providing free internet connectivity and mobile hotspots to student households. They reported over 592,000 students across 332 school districts benefited from this initiative in Texas. In this endeavor, T-Mobile also supports school districts by offering data plans, access to affordable laptops and tablets at little to no cost.

Lastly, T-Mobile is increasing their presence in the state by augmenting the number of their stores, This move, as pointed out by John Stevens, Vice President for T-Mobile’s Small Markets & Rural Areas, helps in building relationships with their customers and taps into the local workforce. He emphasized its importance particularly in smaller and rural communities where they are making their first appearances. He stated, “Our strategy of meeting wireless consumers where they live, work, and play helps us to establish closer connections with them while also enabling us to tap into the local workforce.”
