Celona, a specialist in private 5G, has announced its new ‘zero-trust’ security features named Aerloc. Aimed at industrial clients, Aerloc is designed for the deployment of private 4G and 5G networks, supporting IT and OT functions. Key features include unified SIM-based authentication, dynamic policy enforcement, and IT/OT air-gapping on common infrastructure. This push towards robust security comes with a new global sales channel partner scheme and a distribution agreement with TD SYNNEX. The company also plans to launch a neutral host product and device certification before the year ends.

BP and Insight, both noted for their industrial presence, have adopted Aerloc for their operations, highlighting its application in enhancing secure connectivity and operational integrity. Aerloc is particularly appealing to Industry 4.0, where traditional IT architectures often struggle due to on-premise data requirements and the need for agentless authentication for IoT devices.

Aerloc’s unified approach integrating IT, OT, and 5G addresses these gaps by maintaining security without complicating controls. Its SIM authentication system eliminates the need for additional IoT software on devices, while its integration capabilities with existing network security platforms enhance its appeal to industrial setups. Furthermore, Aerloc’s micro-slicing capability segregates IT and OT traffic, enhancing security and performance integrity.

Comments from industry players underscore the significance of Aerloc’s offerings. Stefan Garrard from BP emphasized its importance for secure and cost-effective networking in industrial settings, aligning with the need for robust connectivity. Jeremy Nelson from Insight pointed out Aerloc’s role in bridging the security gap between IT and OT networks, which has broadened with digital transformation efforts.

Rajeev Shah, Celona’s CEO, praised Aerloc as a milestone for industrial network security. By integrating zero trust principles within its enterprise 5G LAN architecture, Aerloc allows a seamless migration of OT operations to private 5G networks.

Celona’s rebranded Frequency Partner Program aims to enhance partner engagement, offering new resources and support to capitalize on the growing private 5G market. This initiative, along with its partnership expansion into new regions, positions Celona as a key player driving enterprise networking transformation.
