Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison and Ericsson have unveiled the world’s first full-stack Digital Monetization Platform (DMP) in Indonesia. This development signifies a remarkable step towards digital transformation in the nation’s telecom industry. The collaboration aligns with Indosat’s mission to elevate digital telecommunication standards, spur economic growth, and facilitate real-time monetization.
The DMP forms part of Ericsson’s Telecom Business Support System portfolio, which supports 5G readiness and B2B solutions. Through this platform, Indosat can meet diverse customer needs, offering future business models like network slicing. These models provide tailored connectivity solutions essential for consumer and enterprise markets.
A major highlight of the DMP launch was migrating millions of prepaid subscribers in just 18 days. This swift execution, which included an intense 48-hour migration period, was achieved without disruptions. This milestone indicates Indonesia’s growing digital capabilities and sets a precedent for telecom innovations in the region.
Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, stated that the DMP deployment was a “testament to the spirit of ‘Gotong Royong’—a collaborative effort uniting all stakeholders toward our common goal.” He emphasized that the platform enhances service quality, offering exceptional experiences to customers while enabling new, growth-oriented business models.
Meanwhile, Krishna Patil, President Director of Ericsson Indonesia, expressed confidence in the DMP’s ability to boost customer services and provide a seamless transition to the 5G network. He endorsed the deployment as a way to aid Indosat in its transformative journey and further Indonesia’s digitalization.
Future collaborations in AI-driven innovations were also highlighted. Indosat and Ericsson signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Innovate Asia 2024 in Bangkok. They agreed to co-develop AI/ML innovations within the DMP and BSS ecosystems. This partnership aims to boost monetization efforts, quicken time-to-market, and launch sophisticated AI products that propel revenue growth.
