AllPoints Fibre Networks (APFN) has launched Aquila, a pioneering wholesale fibre platform that promises to simplify broadband access for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) across the UK. Integrating networks from Openreach, BT Wholesale, and CityFibre, Aquila provides streamlined access to full-fibre broadband.

This service covers approximately 19 million premises, removing the typical complexity associated with wholesale fibre access. CSPs can now expand without substantial initial investment or lengthy development delays, benefiting from a seamless order and service experience with Aquila.

Aquila’s standout feature is its user-friendly design. CSPs can connect through the established APIs of the TM Forum, utilize Aquila’s API-driven customer portal, or a hybrid of both. This approach ensures consistent and exceptional service delivery to end customers.

Traditionally, achieving national full-fibre coverage required navigating disparate systems from various suppliers. Aquila replaces this fragmented approach with a unified, scalable platform that enhances service provision and accelerates market entry. Ronan Kelly, Managing Director of APFN, stated, “Aquila is built to transform wholesale fibre connectivity, making national full-fibre access simple, scalable, and efficient.”

Beyond being a fibre solution, Aquila operates as a complete service ecosystem. It offers wholesale FTTP, along with Ethernet services, static IP solutions, advanced network telemetry, and CPE logistics. This comprehensive approach supports CSPs in scaling operations confidently.

APFN has also invested in advanced network infrastructure. This includes a robust core and edge network featuring a multi-terabit national backbone designed to reroute traffic to avoid service disruptions during peak demand.

Ronan Kelly emphasized the necessity for modern and scalable wholesale fibre solutions, stating, “With Aquila and APFN’s robust network architecture, CSPs gain total control over their services, ensuring a faster, smarter, and more flexible approach to full-fibre delivery.”
