Ryanair has signed a five-year agreement with Google Cloud to support its next growth phase. The airline wants to reach 300 million passengers each year by 2034.

The deal gives 35,000 employees access to cloud, AI, and workplace tools. It also supports Ryanair’s wider dual-cloud strategy. That approach can reduce reliance on one platform and improve service resilience.

A key part of the agreement is Gemini Enterprise. The platform connects company data and automates work processes. It also helps teams build AI agents for specific business tasks.

For telecoms and IT leaders, this agreement reflects a wider enterprise shift. Large operators now expect AI tools to support daily operations. They want faster workflows, better data use, and fewer manual steps.

Ryanair plans to use Gemini Enterprise for automated decision-making. It also wants better flight crew logistics and higher productivity. These areas depend on accurate data and reliable cloud infrastructure.

Ryanair CEO, Eddie Wilson, said: “Ryanair is on an incredible growth journey to 300 million passengers by 2034. To support this growth, we need to ensure we have excellent infrastructure resilience, and our new dual-cloud strategy provides this, alongside technology partners that match our speed and relentless focus on efficiency.

“With that, we’re pleased to partner with Google Cloud, putting Gemini Enterprise and Google Workspace in the hands of our teams, driving even greater efficiency across our business while bolstering our infrastructure resilience.”

The move should help Ryanair scale digital services more smoothly. Cloud platforms can expand faster than traditional infrastructure. They also make it easier to deploy new applications across regions.

However, large cloud and AI programmes need careful governance. Airlines handle sensitive operational and customer data. They must keep security, compliance, and service continuity under tight control.

This is also relevant for telecom providers supporting enterprise cloud demand. Airlines, banks, retailers, and manufacturers all need dependable connectivity. They also need low-latency access to distributed applications and data.

Google Cloud Vice President, UK, Ireland and Sub-Saharan Africa, Maureen Costello, added: “Aviation is an industry defined by precision, and Ryanair is a pioneer in operational execution. We are thrilled to be Ryanair’s AI transformation partner.

“This agreement demonstrates how deploying generative AI at scale – coupled with modern collaboration tools for frontline workers – can help industry leaders scale securely, reduce operational costs, and redefine the travel experience.”

The partnership shows how AI is moving beyond trials. Enterprises now want embedded tools for everyday decision-making. For telecoms, that means stronger demand for secure cloud access and managed digital platforms.
