FiberLocator, the well-known US fibre data platform, recently expanded its network planning services to encompass UK fibre data. This expansion includes UK fibre providers added to its already extensive database of over 1,000 carriers, 5 million connected buildings, and 6,000 data centres.
Primarily serving carriers, mobile operators, towercos, and data centre operators, FiberLocator is renowned for offering comprehensive, timely, and accurate fibre data. For decades, it has been a crucial resource supporting custom fibre network development, data centre site planning, and on-net building location in the US. Their constant updates, integrating new data from various providers, exemplify their commitment to aiding network planners.
Mike Iapalucci, Vice President at FiberLocator, remarked on this development. “FiberLocator users are generating an increasing request volume for UK-based fibre connectivity. Launching in the UK will open up many exciting new opportunities for us. On one hand, we see increased US demand for UK fibre. On the other hand, there is a rich and diverse fibre ecosystem in the UK. Our goal is to be the bridge between UK supply and US demand, and we’re already in the process of signing up our first suppliers.”
The inclusion of UK data allows for seamless integration of UK fibre connectivity into the FiberLocator platform. Fibre providers can contribute their data at no cost, broadening their visibility among US carriers. This added exposure creates a streamlined and quicker avenue for wholesale transactions, skipping lengthy framework negotiations.
David Liggitt, President of CCMI, highlighted the significance of this expansion, noting, “With the increased expansion of UK data centres, proximity to fibre is more important than ever for data centre users and operators. This represents a fantastic opportunity for UK providers, and we’re thrilled to share our services with the market.”
