Telefónica Tech has rolled out an innovative generative AI platform tailored for enterprises aspiring to craft custom virtual assistants. The platform seamlessly integrates with backend systems and various hyperscale cloud services. Additionally, it connects to primary large language models, providing a streamlined approach for businesses, particularly in Spain and Latin America, to develop their AI assistants without intricate configurations.
The generative AI, as outlined, holds significant potential to automate and streamline complex queries and repetitive tasks within enterprises. It also aims to elevate customer service, predict trends, and boost productivity. The initiative intends to broaden AI’s reach in the business realm, democratizing access and usage of these advanced technologies.
Created in collaboration with cloud services firm Altostratus, acquired in 2021, the platform is heralded as both “quick and easy” to deploy. Its plug-and-play nature, alongside being scalable, secure, and agnostic, allows companies of any size to leverage its capabilities without needing extensive technical acumen.
The platform adapts efficiently to the specific needs of enterprises and supports simultaneous multi-user engagement. With integration available for multiple tools like communication platforms and business applications, it remains compatible with diverse hyperscale technology. Furthermore, API connections cater to specialized company requirements, ensuring versatility across varied business processes.
Moreover, Telefónica Tech provides both open-source and proprietary editions, alongside real-time monitoring to assess cost, performance, and latency metrics. The service guarantees compliance with local and regional data policies, aligning with the European AI Regulation, and ensuring secure data interactions.
The R&D team for AI at Telefónica includes over 400 professionals spanned across Spain, the UK, Central Europe, and the US. Elena Gil Lizasoain, director of AI and data at Telefónica Tech, remarked on the platform, stating it aims to “popularise the use of personalized virtual assistants to transform businesses and make them more efficient and resilient.”
