French telecommunications company Orange and Mistral AI have unveiled a strategic partnership to drive the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) across Europe. According to the official announcement, this collaboration aims to enhance AI capabilities, spark innovation, and deliver considerable benefits to customers.
The collaboration is focused on analyzing the impact of large-scale AI deployment on telecommunications networks worldwide. Both companies will work together to establish technological roadmaps that shape the future of networks, addressing pressing challenges such as connectivity demands and GPU availability. Orange has stressed their objective to provide customers with smooth and highly efficient access to advanced AI solutions.
A significant aspect of this initiative involves optimizing existing networks and introducing AI-driven solutions. By utilizing Mistral AI’s technologies, Orange intends to improve intelligent traffic management, predictive maintenance, and repair solutions. This integration will further enable the rollout of new AI-powered personalized services, benefiting Orange’s vast customer base of 300 million globally.
Moreover, Mistral AI’s applications, like Le Chat Pro and Codestral, will be incorporated into Orange’s service offerings. Orange will enhance its generative AI solution, Live Intelligence, through a comprehensive offering featuring Codestral, a large language model (LLM) developed by Mistral AI. Hosted on Orange Business infrastructure, this solution empowers businesses across France and Europe to expedite software development efficiently, maintaining control over their data and processes.
As part of its strategic vision, Orange aims to deliver excellent network quality with negligible latency, approaching near real-time responsiveness. This will support agentic AI, facilitating instant interactions and decision-making.
