Orange Cyberdefense, the cybersecurity arm of Orange, has acquired the Swiss cybersecurity company ensec. This strategic acquisition aims to bolster Orange Cyberdefense’s presence in the growing Swiss market, particularly in the German-speaking regions. The deal, completed on July 23, underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its market position by leveraging local expertise.
The Swiss market is experiencing rapid growth due to heightened regulatory demands and a need for local cybersecurity talent. The acquisition of ensec offers Orange Cyberdefense a firm foothold in these areas, expanding its presence beyond the French-speaking parts of Switzerland. Present since 2022, Orange Cyberdefense has already established itself there with over 100 cybersecurity experts collaborating with both private and public sectors.
Ensec brings an impressive team of around 40 skilled experts and a portfolio of more than 130 clients from sectors such as finance, retail and energy. This move is expected to enhance Orange Cyberdefense’s capabilities by integrating ensec’s technical expertise and strong local presence.
Additionally, this merger presents an opportunity to capitalize on synergies with Orange Business and global sales resources, while gaining from ensec’s regional strengths. The acquisition aligns with Orange Cyberdefense’s strategy of combining local solutions with a global perspective to become the preferred cybersecurity partner in Switzerland and across Europe.
