Germany remains a key area for fiber growth. In recent developments, Deutsche Telekom added 2.5 million homes to the fiber network last year. The company forecasts a figure of 17.5 million homes connected by 2027. Dominique Leroy, a board member, emphasized in a call with investors the importance of enhancing customer home experiences with smart features related to home control and security.
Tim Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, highlighted their progress, stating, “On networks, we keep our market-leading position, which is our foundation of success.” The company now reaches nearly 24 million homes in Europe, 12.6 million of which are in Germany. It’s noteworthy that their average utilization rate is 36%.
In the United States, Deutsche Telekom, through T-Mobile, has ambitious plans for fiber expansion. Currently, they have almost 1 million fiber customers, with a target of reaching 3-4 million by 2030. The U.S. market is vital for their global strategy, reflecting the company’s long-term growth aspirations.
Rodrigo Diehl, another leader in the German market, reiterated their commitment to increasing fiber investments.
