France invests €750 million in 6G R&D 

For research and development projects in advanced network generations such as 5G and 6G, France has announced a €750m grant program. In order to produce sovereign solutions, especially with the pandemic and global trade disputes, the country is focusing on virtualization, open interfaces for access networks, edge computing, security, and AI and machine learning integration. The scheme is part of Macron’s France 2030 strategy. It is a €30 billion plan aimed at modernizing the economy and positioning France as a world leader in future network technologies.

T-Mobile in talks to acquire MVNO Mint Mobile

T-Mobile is apparently in discussions to buy Mint Mobile, a pre-paid mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) backed by Ryan Reynolds. Mint Mobile has grown in popularity since its launch as Mint SIM in 2015. It has been touted as a cheaper alternative to major mobile providers and has seen rapid development in recent years. By 2021, the company was expected to be the fastest-growing enterprise in the United States. The deal makes sense because Mint already uses T-Mobile’s 4G and 5G networks. It is unclear if Mint will keep its brand name or be absorbed into T-Mobile’s prepaid brands.

Broadvoice GoContact launched for businesses in North America

Broadvoice, a provider of hosted voice, unified communications (UCaaS), and SIP trunking services for small and midmarket enterprises, announced the North American launch of its GoContact omnichannel cloud contact center solution. Broadvoice acquired GoContact, a CCaaS provider located in Portugal, in July 2021, adding the GoContact platform to its portfolio. Broadvoice has been planning to provide and maintain the GoContact service in the United States and Canada since the purchase. GoContact makes establishing a contact center easier since it is simple to deploy, operate, manage, afford, scale, and upgrade.

Verizon launches a new suite of digital engagement capabilities

Verizon Business has introduced a comprehensive set of digital engagement capabilities for its Virtual Contact Center (VCC) in order to improve the end-to-end virtual customer journey. Windstream integrates its OfficeSuite Live with Amazon Web Services 

Windstream, a communications and software business, has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services to integrate its OfficeSuite Live virtual meeting platform with AWS’s cloud architecture. This cooperation improves security, scalability, dependability, and flexibility to enable seamless collaboration and communication for remote and hybrid work. OfficeSuite Live takes advantage of the WebRTC features of the Amazon Chime SDK for simple and cost-effective video streaming and sharing.
