VEON, the global digital operator, is demonstrating its unwavering commitment to Ukraine with a high-level delegation visit to Kyiv and Lviv. Comprising members of the VEON Board and Management, the delegation seeks to bolster the company’s presence and engage with various stakeholders in Ukraine.
Highlighting the dedication of Kyivstar employees, VEON CEO Kaan Terzioglu said, “Kyivstar’s 4000 heroes have done a tremendous job over the past 20 months, keeping Ukraine connected and supporting the country’s resilience. With our pledge of USD 600 million for Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, we are here to plan our future investments, marking a key objective of our visit.”
This visit follows VEON’s recent announcement of closing the sale of its Russia operations, signifying a significant corporate exit. VEON’s commitment to Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction was reaffirmed during the “Ukraine Recovery Conference” in London in June, cementing its long-term partnership with the country.
VEON, as the parent company and sole owner of Kyivstar, the largest telecoms operator in Ukraine, serves 25 million customers. The company has remained steadfast in its support for Ukraine during challenging times.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, VEON is a Nasdaq- and Euronext Amsterdam-listed company, boasting a global investor base from the US, EU, and UK. VEON underlined its ownership of Kyivstar and its determination to preserve the rights of both VEON and Kyivstar in response to recent speculation about Kyivstar’s ownership.
With this visit, VEON aims to reinforce its status as a reliable and long-term partner for Ukraine, emphasizing its commitment to the country’s development and connectivity.
