The 2017 IP EXPO Europe was the greatest IT conference of the year for CIOs, heads of IT, security specialists, heads of insight, tech experts and organizations looking to innovate and evolve through technology.

Focusing on six IT themes, the event’s 12th edition brought together more than 300 exhibitors from different parts of the technology sector and 300 free seminar sessions at ExCel in London on 4 and 5 of October.

Across both days, Artificial Intelligence (AI) was the main topic of discussion, with Stuart Russell, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkley and AI-pioneer providing powerful insights on the reality of AI and whether or not we, as humans, should be concerned about its evolution.

“It seems very likely that at some point we will have machines that are more intelligent than human beings,” said Professor Russell in one of his presentations.

However, AI wasn’t the only popular subject among attendees. Cybersecurity was also a large part of the show, with award-winning speakers on the topic offering important security insights and solutions for companies to build stronger defenses structure against cyber-attacks.

In addition, the number one IT forum in Europe covered other subjects such as the next generation of cloud solutions, strategies for building more efficient infrastructures, and the impact of open source’s rapid expansion on enterprises.

This year’s participants also had the opportunity to listen to noteworthy speakers like Professor Brian Cox OBE, a world-renowned scientist, and TV presenter, as well as Brad Anderson, corporate vice president of the enterprise mobility team at Microsoft.

Bradley Maule-ffinch, EMEA Portfolio Director at the event said that the speakers and exhibitors went above and beyond to make this year’s show an incredible success, and as a result, it hit its record attendance across both days.

All in all, the IP EXPO Europe did not only succeed in offering a platform for vendors to showcase their new technology, connect with customers and provide educational training sessions, but it also provided all guests with a deep and comprehensive outlook on the evolution of IT.

The good news for those who missed this year’s hottest information technology trade show is that IP EXPO Europe returns in 2018 with more exciting content and brand-new developments in IT on October 3 and 4 at ExCeL London.
