The hyperlocal advertising campaign ‘Ogi has landed’ has sparked excitement and engagement among the residents of south Wales, as it highlights the arrival of a full fibre network in local towns and villages, often for the first time. The campaign is supplemented by a series of community-based events and festivals, which follow the positive growth trend of Ogi over the past two years.

Today, Ogi serves as the leading alternative choice for ultrafast and ultra-reliable network connectivity in south Wales. Ogi’s full fibre entry package boasts speeds almost three times faster than the Welsh average, showcasing a minimum download of 150 Mbps. Furthermore, the company has implemented a cost-of-living offer that provides the first six months of service for free to all new customers.

Launched just over two years ago, Ogi invested £200 million into a first phase plan to deliver ultrafast full fibre connectivity to traditionally underserved communities throughout south Wales. With a commitment to bring gigabit-capable speeds to 150,000 premises within a decade, Ogi’s rollout has already surpassed a third of those promised locations. Presently, the company’s network covers over 60 towns and villages and proudly serves 6,000 customers, maintaining high satisfaction rates.

Ogi’s workforce has experienced significant growth from its initial 20 employees in 2021 to a present-day count of 200——making it one of Wales’s fastest-growing companies and one of the UK’s top 10 fibre investors. CEO Ben Allwright stated, “We’re bringing new highly skilled, well-paying jobs to Wales, and a network that means more people can live and work where they choose to with confidence”. Sarah Vining, Head of Brand and Engagement, has emphasized Ogi’s drive to embed itself into local communities.

Satisfied customers have noticed the benefits of Ogi’s full fibre network. John Tunnecliff, a Porthcawl resident, shared his positive experience, stating, “After years of struggling with one of the major providers, Ogi arrived with their full fibre. They connected us immediately, and before we knew it we had a very fast, and stable wifi connection.”

As the only altnet solely focused on Wales, the telecoms business is proud to offer one of the fastest networks in the UK, with Nokia’s 25G PON technology enabling businesses in Cardiff’s Tramshed Tech.
