Swiss IoT module maker u-blox is teaming up with UK-based IoT connectivity provider Wireless Logic to create enhanced IoT solutions for developers. The companies announced a strategic partnership to deliver seamless, robust, and scalable connectivity solutions for various industries including automotive, industrial, healthcare, and smart cities.
The collaboration will integrate Wireless Logic’s global IoT virtual operator network, Conexa, with u-blox cellular IoT modules via embedded SIM (eSIM) hardware. Customers will benefit from optimal network coverage and performance by switching between multiple global mobile networks on the Conexa platform without needing physical SIM changes. The companies expect this to provide unparalleled scalability and flexibility.
Enhanced control and visibility over IoT deployments will further benefit customers through Wireless Logic’s intuitive connectivity management platform. This partnership will also speed up time-to-market (TTM) for IoT developers and foster rapid innovation.
Martin Leach, head of u-blox’s cellular business unit, said, “Wireless Logic’s leading eSIM solutions and technical expertise align with our commitment to delivering state-of-the-art products that meet the evolving needs of our customers. By combining our technologies, we are enhancing the value proposition for IoT deployments, providing unmatched connectivity, security, and flexibility.”
John Dillon, managing director of product and marketing at Wireless Logic, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “This marks a significant milestone in our mission to simplify IoT connectivity. By combining our connectivity services with u-blox’s high-performance cellular modules, we are enabling businesses to deploy IoT solutions more efficiently and cost-effectively. We look forward to seeing the innovative devices and applications that our combined offering will create.”
u-blox has also launched a new low-power IoT asset tracking service called u-blox CloudTrack. This service integrates reliable GNSS positioning with data communications, cloud analytics, and energy savings. It promises six times the energy savings compared to standalone GNSS fixes and combines GNSS, cellular, and Wi-Fi data for positioning, even in signal-limited areas.
The CloudTrack service simplifies asset tracking by using a single Thingstream SIM card for global connectivity and offering per-location-request pricing. This solution aims to eliminate the complexity of multiple location data and regional connectivity providers, providing a single-module SKU for global asset tracking.
