Verizon Business is advancing its Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities by partnering with Singapore’s Singtel and satellite provider Skylo. This collaboration will extend IoT connectivity to over 200 countries through a combination of satellite, roaming, and eSIM solutions. Customers can manage services effectively using Verizon‘s ThingSpace platform.

This strategic alliance allows Singtel to join Verizon’s Global IoT Orchestration service. Consequently, businesses can now activate and manage IoT devices globally utilizing partner networks. This marks a significant advantage for Verizon users aiming to expand their IoT reach in the Asia Pacific area. Additionally, Bell Canada and Telenor IoT are already part of this orchestration.

Within the U.S., Verizon partners with Skylo to bridge connectivity gaps in regions lacking traditional cellular signals. While currently focused on the U.S., the aspiration is to grow globally over time.

“Our IoT services and platforms are designed to meet our customers’ needs wherever they do business, which is all around the world. We’re thrilled to see Global IoT Orchestration in-market now and satellite-enhanced IoT coverage in the U.S. to be available near-term, enabling worldwide connectivity for our customers from the best partners in the industry,” noted Shamik Basu, Vice President, Strategic Connectivity, Verizon Business.

Initially aimed at U.S. users planning to manage IoT devices abroad, the Global IoT Orchestration service leverages the ThingSpace platform for efficient global communication. Through it, businesses can ensure seamless coverage by utilizing eSIM profiles from Verizon’s partners in supported territories.
