Infobip has launched Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging across the four major US mobile operators. This marks a significant advancement in telecom communications. RCS is set to become the next level of text messaging, offering a richer and interactive experience compared to traditional SMS. This development provides businesses with new ways to enhance customer engagement through rich media content.

All major wireless carriers are implementing this enhanced messaging channel. Its features include high-resolution images, video sharing, advanced group chat functions, and interactive message components, such as appointment scheduling. By leveraging Infobip’s RCS capabilities, businesses can integrate advanced branding and messaging opportunities.

The company has initiated the first RCS marketing campaign in the US in partnership with marketing platform Listrak and luxury brand Dooney & Bourke. This campaign targeted holiday shopping promotions and reportedly doubled revenue per send compared to SMS/MMS campaigns. Ivan Ostojic, Chief Business Officer at Infobip, noted, “Both telecoms and businesses are seeking out better ways to leverage this evolutionary messaging channel.”

Collaborators like Listrak are also recognizing RCS’s impact. Jamie Elden, CRO of Listrak, highlighted, “RCS offers marketers a whole new way for brands to communicate with consumers through mobile.” The collaboration with Infobip showcased how luxury experiences can translate into mobile messaging, delivering impressive results.
