Intrado Corporation releases a wearable 911 safety device

Intrado has unveiled a wearable safety gadget with a programmable panic button. The badge-sized gadget is a component of Intrado’s Safety Suite Solution, an all-inclusive incident management platform for K–12 schools, institutes of higher education, and organizations of all sizes. Upon user activation, Intrado Safety Suite immediately notifies administrators and personnel and sends the device location and event specifics to the appropriate 911 emergency communications center (ECC). The panic button that is part of the Safety Suite is also available in desktop, mobile and mounted versions.

Verizon Business announces new BlueJeans Gateway features

Verizon Business has announced that its BlueJeans Gateway cloud video interop (CVI) solution for Microsoft Teams now includes enhanced usability, customization and analytics features. The BlueJeans Gateway’s most recent improvements were created to increase Teams involvement without replacing existing hardware components. Customers will soon be able to use the web application on the latest conference room systems to connect to alternative meeting services using Microsoft’s Direct Guest Join one-touch feature.

GL Communications releases their new Voice Analysis Tool

GL Communications Inc., a global provider of telecom test and measurement solutions, has introduced its new Voice Analysis Tool (VAT™). The VAT™ examines the audio content of any Narrowband (NB, WB, or SWB) or Super Wideband (SWB) PCM audio file and produces a number of audio metrics. Round Trip and One Way Delay, Dropout Audio Analysis, Double-Talk, Power Level and Frequency Analysis, Speech Activity, Active Speech Level and Noise Level, and DC Offset are all part of the audio analysis.

GSMA releases its State of Mobile Internet Connectivity report

According to the GSMA’s annual State of Mobile Internet Connectivity Report, 95% of the world’s population currently resides in areas served by mobile broadband connectivity, and 55% of those people are now linked to mobile internet. However, 40% of those who have access to a mobile broadband network encounter difficulties in getting online and maintaining connectivity. Addressing the mobile internet use gap will be a highlight of this year’s MWC Africa event, which begins next week in Kigali, Rwanda.
